About Me

Steve was born and bred in North Wales. He has played keyboards sung and written with many rock and pop bands, most notably with The Alarm and Spear of Destiny. Steve also arranged and conducted Alarm songs with Mike Peters and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in New York.

Compositions for television/film/corporate include “ Save the Cinema” and “Vinyl” (UK cinema release/ Sky movies) Gamepad for Sky TV, All Mixed Up, Video Jukebox and Kellyvision for ITV, English Heritage and Rolls Royce. Steve’s music recently featured on CBS’s Hawaii Five-O, ITV’s Emmerdale, BBC’s Grumpy Guide to Fashion and Celebrity Bargain Hunt Live. Steve’s music also featured on the RTS award winning short “Archie”.

For the theatre Steve has ,for the past three years, been composer/ arranger for Oxford Playhouse’s pantomimes – Jack and the Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty ( UK Pantomime Association award winner ) and Dick Whittington. Steve co-wrote new musical  “Oxy and the Morons ” with Alarm frontman Mike Peters and writer Paul Sirett which enjoyed an autumn 2017 run at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich.

Other theatre compositions include Treasure Island, Wind in the Willow, Alice in Wonderland ,Pinocchio and Beauty and the Beast for Birmingham Old Rep, Alice in Wonderland, Toad of Toad Hall and The Nativity for Clwyd Theatr Cymru. Botticelli’s Bonfire and An Informers Duty for National Youth Theatre of Wales. Alice Through The Looking Glass for Theatre Royal, Northampton, Kes and Our Town for TiC, Toad of Toad Hall, The Railway Children and The Quest for Arthur (directed by Kate O’Mara) for the Brewhouse Theatre, Taunton, The Rivals and Hamlet for the British Actors Theatre Company/Theatre Royal,Windsor and Flintshire’s Cultural Olympiad project “Spirits of Dragons.“

Steve also writes and produces children’s audio/music. Much of Steve’s work is sold through major High Street retailers such as Marks and Spencer. Steve’s compositions sell worldwide via Spain’s leading toy retailer Imaginarium.

2026 sees Steve working on a new song cycle and more touring with Spear of Destiny
